VV Rijnmond Hoogvliet Sport is a Dutch amateur football club from Hoogvliet. The club's first team will play in the Fourth Division on Saturday (2023/24).
The association was founded in 1988 as a merger of the oldest Hoogvliet association SV Hoogvliet, founded on August 1, 1934, and SV Rijnmond, which was founded in Pernis on August 28, 1961 by a number of employees of the Dutch Railways. After the merger, the latter date was registered as the official date of incorporation with the KNVB.
On August 1, 1934, two associations in Hoogvliet, Stormvogels and DVO (Founded by Friends), decided to merge and football association HVV was founded. Because there was also a club in The Hague with the name HVV, the name was changed to VVH (oogvliet) in 1940.
In 1955, VVH played decisive matches for the Dutch championship in a competition with IJsselmeervogels, SC Genemuiden, Quick Boys and Blauw Wit '34.
In 1960 there was a merger between VVH and Sportclub Delta and the new name became SV Hoogvliet
SV Rijnmond emerged from the Railway Sports Association Pernis, founded on August 28, 1961 by founder Henk van Dongen, among others. SSVP took part in the national Railway Competition and cup competitions. We also took part in a company summer evening competition. For the football matches, fields were rented from Animo Hoogvliet and later also from vv Meeuwenplaat and were subsidized by the Dutch Railways.
On July 9, 1966, the name SSVP was changed to SV Rijnmond and Royal approval followed on December 5 of that year.
In the '69/70 season, SV Rijnmond got its own complex. Barely a year later, the news came that the fields would have to disappear due to the extension of the metro line to Spijkenisse.
In 1977, the association was allocated a new site in Hoogvliet, the location where vv Rijnmond Hoogvliet Sport still plays today.
