FC Tirol Innsbruck (FC Tirol for short) was an Austrian football club from the city of Innsbruck that existed between 1993 and 2002.
The club was founded in 1993 and actually originated from FC Wacker Innsbruck. Wacker's professional division became FC Innsbruck Tirol. The name became FC Innsbruck Capillaris Tirol through the sponsor Capillaris. Wacker Innsbruck was relegated to the 4th division and Tirol took over from the club in the first division. A year later the name FC Tirol Innsbruck was adopted. Klaus Mair became chairman and invested 20 million shillings in the club and fulfilled practically every player wish that coach Hans Krankl had. Mair was later arrested for embezzlement and arrested. Tyrol was on the brink of collapse but could be saved. New sponsor Tirol Milch took over the club and so it became FC Tirol Milch Innsbruck. From 2000 to 2002, the club became national champion 3 times in a row. The debt burden of the club was such that after the last title the club went bankrupt and merged with Wacker Innsbruck to become FC Wacker Tirol.
