Dundee FC is a Scottish football club from Dundee. The club was founded in 1893 through a merger between Our Boys and East End. The club is arch rival to Dundee United, which has its stadium a few dozen meters away.
The club became champion in 1962 and defeated clubs such as 1. FC Koln, Sporting Portugal and RSC Anderlecht in the European Cup before losing to AC Milan in the semi-final.
After that, Dundee FC commuted several times between the highest and the second highest class. After the relegation in 2005, the club even went bankrupt in 2010. Despite a penalty of 25 points, Dundee managed to maintain himself on the second level. In July 2012, Dundee FC promoted to the Scottish Premier League again without playing. It was designated as the replacement of the bankrupt Rangers. The record champion was put back to the Scottish Third Division. However, the selection was not at the required level and the 2012-2013 season in the Premier League went badly, Dundee relegated immediately again. The following season 2013-2014, however, Dundee promoted to the highest level again as champion of the Scottish Championship.
