FC Sochaux-Montbéliard (FCSM) (usually simply FC Sochaux) is a French football club from Montbéliard.
The club was quite successful shortly after its founding, winning two league titles in the 1930s. In the period after World War II, results began to decline, and the Lionceaux went from being a top club to a mid-table team, relying primarily on its excellent youth academy. Only Olympique Marseille has played in the top division longer than Sochaux. In recent years, the club seems to be on the mend. Since 2000, the club has qualified for European football four times. The club remains known for its excellent youth academy, which has produced players such as Benoît Pedretti and Pierre-Alain Frau.
