During the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League season, Juventus experienced a disappointing campaign under manager Ciro Ferrara, failing to progress past the group stage. Competing in Group A alongside Bordeaux, Bayern Munich, and Maccabi Haifa, the Italian giants finished third with 8 points and were subsequently transferred to the UEFA Europa League. During the 2009/10 season at Juventus FC, Italian striker Vincenzo Iaquinta wore the number 9 shirt. He started the campaign as an undisputed primary starter under manager Ciro Ferrara, but a severe knee injury completely derailed his season.
