During the 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 seasons, under manager Arsène Wenger, Arsenal achieved significant success, most notably winning the domestic Premier League and FA Cup Double in the 1997-99 season. The following season, they were league runners-up, finishing just one point behind Manchester United.
