The 2008 European Men's Football Championship took place from 7 to 29 June in Switzerland and Austria. After the European Championship 2000, which was held in the Netherlands and Belgium, this was the second time that a European Championship was organized jointly by two countries.

This European Championship was won by Spain in the Ernst Happel Stadium. The final against Germany was won 1-0 by a goal from Fernando Torres.
