Celtic FC (pronounced: Seltik) is a football club from Glasgow in Scotland, founded in 1888. The home stadium is Celtic Park, popularly the stadium is sometimes called Paradise, this refers to the old cemetery next to which the stadium is built. The club colors are green and white. Celtic play a prominent role in the Scottish football league and supply many internationals for the national team.

Closest competitor and arch-rival is Rangers FC. The matches between these two rivals are known as The Old Firm. The battle for the championship is often between Celtic and the Rangers (Aberdeen was the last club to break this hegemony, in the 1984/85 season), usually with a straight lead over the other clubs.

With the Rangers relegating to Scottish fourth tier in 2012, Celtic are now the longest playing club in the world at the highest level (since 1890) along with Northern Irish clubs Cliftonville, Glentoran and Linfield.
