Vincent Lamar Carter(born January 26, 1977 in Daytona Beach, Florida) is an American former NBA basketball player.
Vince attended the University of North Carolina, where he played for the Division 1 college team the "North Carolina Tarheels". He played college basketball for the Tarheels from 1995 to 1998. In 1998 he participated in the NBA draft where he was selected fifth in the first round by the Golden State Warriors. He was traded to the Toronto Raptors the same day along with a cash prize for Antawn Jamison. At the 2000 Olympic Games Carter was the leading scorer for the United States, who took home gold. He played six and a half seasons for the Raptors before being traded to the New Jersey Nets in 2004 for Alonzo Mourning, Aaron Williams, Eric Williams and two draft picks.
