The Rabobank cycling team raced as UCI Trade Team 1 in 2003 and 2004 and was known for its iconic orange and blue jerseys and Colnago bikes. The team was led by team manager Jan Raas (and later Nico Verhoeven) and achieved great success in the spring classics and the Grand Tours. During this period, the roster consisted of absolute top riders, including: Michael Boogerd: The Dutch figurehead and specialist in the hilly classics. Erik Dekker: Multiple stage winner in the Tour de France and winner of the World Cup. Oscar Freire: Three-time world champion (who joined the team in 2004) and sprint ace. Levi Leipheimer: Team leader for the general classification in the Grand Tours. Pieter Weening: Young talent who broke through during this period. Marc Wauters: Belgian champion and strong in the classics.
