Max Emilian Verstappen (born 30 September 1997 in Hasselt) is a Dutch-Belgian racing driver. He drives under the Dutch flag in Formula 1 for the Red Bull Racing team. On 12 December 2021, Verstappen became the first Dutch Formula 1 world champion ever. He defended his world title in 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2022, he also became the first Dutchman and the fourth racing driver ever to win the Laureus Sportsman of the Year Award.
