KFC (Kooger Football Club) is an amateur football club and former professional club from Koog aan de Zaan, Noord-Holland, Netherlands, founded on 20 October 1910.
The club was founded on 20 October 1910 under the name EDO. In 1911, EDO joined the Noordhollandsche Voetbalbond, after which the name was changed to KFC. In 1913, the first championship was won and they were promoted to the Second Division of the NHVB. In 1915, they finished in second place and were admitted to the First Division by choice. After playing in the First Division for a few years, KFC finished in first place in the 1918/19 season.
KFC had its glory days in the 1930s. During that period, the team always played in the First Division. In the 1933/34 season, KFC became class champion and was therefore allowed to participate in the championship competition. Only in the last match of the season did the team lose to Ajax. A season later, KFC reached the final of the cup, but lost to RFC Roermond.
KFC was also popularly called De Groote Koogsche. The playing field was on the Pinkstraat, under and right next to highway 8, where now, among other things, a branch of the Gamma supermarket is located. The capacity was modest, but in the 1950s, spectator numbers of 4,000 to 5,000 people were regularly reached, with a peak of almost 8,000 in a derby against Volendam.
