This official match shirt of bankrupt club HFC Haarlem from the season 2006-2007 is in top condition. Worn by number #19 in the KKD division.
Haarlemsche Football Club Haarlem was a Dutch football club. The club was originally founded on 1 October 1889 and played in blue shirts, red shorts and blue socks. Home games were played in the Haarlem Stadium. Haarlem was traditionally known for its youth training and scouting.
From the early years of the 20th century, HFC Haarlem was successful. In 1902 and 1912, the KNVB Cup was won. But the greatest success took place in 1946, when the club won the national championship, partly thanks to the legendary Kick Smit.
In the 21st century, Haarlem had little money and an appeal to community funds did not materialise. From November 2009, bankruptcy was threatened, which became reality two months later. This meant that the club ceased to be a professional club after 120 years. In March 2010, an amateur association was founded under the name "Nieuw HFC Haarlem", with the aim of competing in amateur football from the 2010/2011 season onwards. On 26 April 2010, it was announced that the association would continue as Haarlem-Kennemerland after a merger with HFC Kennemerland.
