In the 2009–10 season, Chelsea achieved the first and only domestic Double in their history. Under the management of Carlo Ancelotti in his debut season, the club secured both the Premier League and the FA Cup.

Chelsea won their third Premier League title (and fourth top-flight title overall) by finishing one point ahead of Manchester United.
