Derrick Martell Rose Sr.(born October 4, 1988 in Chicago) is a former American basketball player in the NBA. Rose was a point guard.
In May 2011, Rose was voted MVP of that season. He is the youngest MVP in NBA history. The 2012 play-offs started dramatically. In the first game against the Philadelphia 76ers, Rose tore his cruciate ligaments (left). As a result, he also had to miss the entire 2012-2013 season. In 2013, he returned, but on November 22, Rose tore his meniscus (right). He made his second comeback at the beginning of the 2014-2015 season, but after only 10 games he was out again due to a possible torn hamstring. He made a third comeback in the 2014-2015 season, in which he again missed 31 games due to a new injury to his right meniscus. The 2015–16 season was Rose's last with the Bulls, playing 66 games. On June 22, 2016, Rose was traded along with Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round draft pick to the New York Knicks for José Calderón, Jerian Grant and Robin Lopez.
