Retro Holland 1988 | Note: This shirt is a one on one replica and indistinguishable from the original. Very good quality and a nostalgic look characterize this outfit!
The 1988 European Football Championship was played between 10 and 25 June in the Federal Republic of Germany. It was the eighth edition of the European Championship, which is organized every four years by the umbrella football association UEFA.
The final tournament was played with eight countries, of which West Germany had automatically qualified as host country. Title holder France was already eliminated in the qualifying phase, in favor of the Soviet Union. The Netherlands eventually won the final on June 25 in Munich, when the Soviet Union was defeated 2-0. It was the first and so far only European title for the Orange squad.
This European Championship had some remarkable and rare statistics for a major tournament: for example, no player was sent off the field during the tournament, no match in the knockout phase required extra time or a penalty shootout, and every match scored at least once.
