Hertha Berliner Sport Club Berlin, Hertha BSC for short, is a German football club from Berlin that was founded in 1892. From 1926 to 1931, Hertha BSC reached the finals of the Deutsche Meisterschaft six times. It lost the final four times, and Hertha won twice. 1930 was the first time in history, a year later (1931) for the second time.
The club originally played its home games in the Plumpe, which was regularly bombed during the Second World War. Gradually, Hertha played more and more matches in Berlin's Olympia Stadium. When Hertha appeared to be going bankrupt in 1971, the club was forced to sell "Die Plumpe".
