ASD Martina Calcio 1947, formerly AS Martina Franca 1947, and AC Martina, commonly called Martina Franca or simply Martina, is an Italian football club based in Martina Franca, Apulia. The club was re-established in 2008 as ASD Martina Franca 1947 and again 2016 as ASD Martina Calcio 1947.
The club was established in 1947.
Martina played in the Serie C1 Group B in the 2007-2008 season, finished last and thus relegated directly to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione (ex-Serie C2).
The club needed new lenders, but with its relegation to the fourth tier of professional football in Italy, no investors were found and the club decided to withdraw from the 2008-2009 season. All players are released.
At the same time as the dissolution of AC Martina, a Phoenix club, ASD Martina Franca was formed in the same transfer window. It was admitted in the Prima Categoria Apulia. The club finished second in the 2008-09 Prima Categoria Apulia season and promoted to Promozione Apulia.
The following season, Promozione Apulia's playoffs and promotion to the Eccellenza Apulia 2010-2011 season won. The Serie D militant Ostuni Sports, Martina is proposing an exchange of sports titles that would allow a double promotion, but after an initial initial interest in the company it was decided to give up and then participate in Eccellenza Apulia.
In the 2010-2011 season, after a long battle with Cerignola that only ended in extra time from the playoffs for promotion, Martina was eventually promoted to Serie D 2011-2011.
In the 2011/12 Series D Martina Franca was promoted to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. This meant the return of Martina to professional football with 4 promotions in 4 years.
Martina was relegated back to Serie D after finishing the 2013-14 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione in thirteenth place, but was then relegated to the 2014-15 Lega Pro after being chosen to fill a vacancy in the league .
In 2016, the club did not register for the professional league, so all players were released.
